U.S. Forest Service Awards Grants to Multiple BAC Members

The U. S. Forest Service has just announced awards to several BAC members for projects to convert forest waste biomass to energy. The Forest Service awards will go to Redding Rancheria Economic Development Corporation, Scotts Valley Energy Corporation, and Sierra Institute for Community and Environment. These awards come from the Forest Service’s wood innovation, community wood, and wood products programs to accelerate the use of forest waste for beneficial wood products including energy.

Redding Rancheria’s award will help support its forest waste to hydrogen project in Shasta County. Scotts Valley’s award will support its forest waste to electricity project in Lake County. And Sierra Institute’s award will support its mass timber project.
