BAC Comments on Non-Energy Benefits
BAC submitted comments to the California Energy Commission in its proceeding to consider non-energy benefits and impacts. BAC’s comments emphasize the need to consider:
- Short-Lived Climate Pollutant reductions
- Opportunities for carbon negative emissions
- Wildfire mitigation
- Reduction in open burning of forest and agricultural waste
- Bioenergy emissions compared to burning or land-filling organic waste
- The need for a diverse energy portfolio, including firm power, to ensure energy reliability and resilience.
