US Forest Service Highlights West Biofuels, Need for Forest Bioenergy
The United States Forest Service (USFS), which has provided funding for several forest BioMAT projects, is featuring West Biofuels and one of its BioMAT projects on the USFS homepage. The USFS website underscores how important bioenergy is for forest health, protection against wildfires, air quality, energy reliability and rural economic development. USFS also underscores that bioenergy provides a clean and beneficial use of forest residues and other vegetation that has to be removed for wildfire mitigation, ecosystem restoration, control of invasive species and more. The article also underscores the many jobs and economic development benefits of community bioenergy projects.
